Willowbrook Foods, County Down based distributor of quality prepared vegetables and salads, chooses the M-POS van sales system to drive expansion plan
From their base on the shore of beautiful Strangford Lough, County Down, Willowbrook Foods are on a mission to be recognised as the best supplier of freshly prepared, quality, innovative foods in their market. With a forty-year history of food production and a reputation for quality, they are better placed than most to capitalise on the boom in convenience foods and ready meals in Ireland.
Sales manager, Justin Milligan, is the one entrusted with building a sales and delivery team capable of providing customer service levels commensurate with the quality of the product. ‘We were going along nicely’, says Justin, ‘building the team and the numbers. However, at a certain stage of our expansion it became apparent that, as sales grew, my time was being diverted from business growth to admin work. I immediately set about finding a system that would take the admin away’.
‘The system had to have two key attributes,’ says Justin. ‘Firstly it would be capable of managing all aspects of a mobile sales operation, from price management and telesales order entry right through to handheld signature capture, van sales and credit control. Secondly, it had to be a system that would not overload the business with either financial or IT admin overhead.’
‘By a happy co-incidence, Mobile Enterprise Systems were conducting an active marketing campaign in Ireland at the same time and they sent me a ‘flyer’ which seemed to tick all the boxes. I asked them to come and show us their system and, to make a long story short, we were bowled over by what they offered. In fact, we were so impressed that we not only placed our order for the system there and then but we even booked our training session with the Mobile Enterprise Systems project manager!’
‘Our training session took place within a few days. Mobile Enterprise Systems went on to load our customer and product data for us and to provide an integration to our accounting system. From that point, the intuitive nature of the system meant that we were able to implement it ourselves with only telephone support from our project manager.’
‘We have now been using the system for a few months and it is proving to be a tremendous enabler. We are offering our customers the level of service they require, we are building the business and, most importantly, we can focus on business development rather than admin.’
