Connacht Gold, the Irish Dairy and Foodservice company, implements BelTek Van Sales System to improve efficiency and provide management information
Connacht Gold Retail Sales and Foodservice is underpinning its growth plans by implementing the market leading BelTek van sales and direct store delivery system from Mobile Enterprise Systems Ltd.
‘Two factors influenced our decision to implement a system’ says IT Manager Paul Harte. ‘Firstly, we are in a very competitive sector and to expand our business beyond its current base is going to require even more flexibility and even more imagination in our pricing, promotions and general customer service and management. And, as our customer base grows, it becomes ever more essential to have a clear perspective on exactly who is buying what, how often and for how much. Making good marketing decisions is essential to any business and we want to make ours based on the best possible management information’.
Connacht Gold set out to find a system in 2006. They compiled a list of bidders and eventually a shortlist of three, of which BelTek emerged as the winner. ‘While a few systems were able to produce clean documentation at the point of delivery and reduce paperwork in general, the BelTek system offered the level of pro-active support for the reps and agents that we need to drive the business forward. Firstly it will provide us with the ability to analyse our sales in detail so we can see trends and opportunities right down to individual customer level. Secondly it will allow us to build and manage our promotions and sales campaigns to get the correct product mix into every outlet. Thirdly, it will truly assist the reps to maximise each call, even suggesting individual stock levels for each outlet if required! We are engaged in a major brand building exercise,’ says Etienne Gerard, Operations Manager, ‘and the BelTek system has the ability to ensure that we deliver the premium levels of customer service that must go with a premium brand.’
