Dairyglen chooses M-POS Van Sales System to achieve eficiencies and drive increased sales
Dairyglen Ltd, based in Bray, Co Wicklow and Carraigtwohill, Co Cork, is one of 
the best known names in the wholesale soft serve ice cream sector in Ireland and runs a van sales team servicing retail outlets and restaurants throughout the country. The business was originally founded in 1991 by Edgar and Geoffrey Delaney, who spotted an opportunity for a company based on the principles of offering a ‘one stop shop’ to their customers combined with a true customer service ethic.
Edgar’s son Philip, now the managing director of the business, is continuing the customer service tradition while expanding into new markets such as coffee dispensing. Philip is determined to build on the company’s reputation for premium customer service and has invested in the M-POS mobile sales system from Mobile Enterprise Systems of Bristol to ensure he does just that.
‘We have been using handheld systems for a few years’, says Philip. ‘But our previous system just did not offer the flexibility to help us manage new initiatives. The result was that we required three systems to run the business; our main ERP system, a bespoke telesales order entry system and the handheld system. Ironically, the whole thing also required too much paperwork and too many manual processes to support it’.
‘So when I saw a presentation of M-POS it was immediately apparent that I could consolidate all of my day-to-day operations into one system. For instance, M-POS offers me a telesales module which provides much better telesales functionality than my old system, even though that was especially bespoked for me! I now have call lists automatically generated for the telesales team two days ahead of delivery, template orders make it easier and quicker to service each call and all orders are automatically downloaded onto the handhelds for delivery by the vans. For those customers who do not want to place their orders by phone, the Van Sales module makes it as easy as possible for the drivers to service them and the integrated SatNav feature means that the drivers are as efficient as possible on their journeys, which is very handy at peak summer trading times’
‘Mobile Enterprise Systems integrated M-POS to our ERP program, so all in all we have eliminated a great deal of paperwork and manual data management from our business. M-POS even offers a Field Service module and I am looking forward to rolling that out as we expand our coffee machine user base. I am sure our customers will see the difference’
