Sell Through Rates

Sell through rate is a true reflection of what has been sold by the delivery point (through the till) rather than what was sold into the delivery point (delivered in quantity). For example, if you visit a customer every Monday and Thursday, the Monday to Thursday sell through calculation would be as follows:

Monday Remaining products in store (from last visit) = 8 units
  New products delivered this visit  = 12 units
   Monday’s end stock = 20 units
Thursday Remaining products in store (from Monday’s visit)  = 2 units

Based on this call pattern, there are two sell through periods; Monday to Thursday and Thursday to Monday. The above example demonstrates the Monday to Thursday sell through rate only.
